This year I have been testing spinner baits through out the season trying to find that spinner bait that will not sit in a tackle box, but will always be on a rod and will consistently in all conditions produce bass. There are hundreds of spinner baits on the market. Ive tested hundreds, literally from Bass Pro to Zoro. One that I have found that I really like and have good luck turning other anglers onto in called the Jaw Jerker from Dr. Hook. They are made in Arkansas by a bass tourney angler named Dewy Oyler. Until recently he made them only for himself and a few tourney anglers.
They will run straight and true slow rolled along the bottom or burned along the surface for a reaction strike. They have Epoxy Powder painted heads, Mustad Ultra Point Nickel Hooks, Stainless Steel Wire for maximum fish attracting blade vibration, Stainless Steel Ball Bearing Swivels, Premium #3 Nickel Colorado and #5 Nickel Willowleaf Blades, Extra Thick 56 Tail True Color Silicone Skirts. These spinner baits hold up great. The paint stays on better than most out there. They are not yet available in stores but will be in Gander Mt. and Reeds next year. In the meantime, they can be purchased in an Ebay store only. The link is below. For anyone that is a spinner bait user, I strongly encourage you to try a few.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
