I need your help and input. I'm designing a line of lures and I am trying to get suggestions on these lures from fellow anglers to create truly great fishing lures. I have designed a prototype Bass Frog lure, and I'm looking for some help....so...

1. Do you use Frog Lures or have you in the past?

2. What do you like/not like about frog lures?

3. What would you like changed or what don't you like about them?

4. I would use frog lures if they _________?

1) Yes, and Yes
2) Soft plastic frog lures only last maybe 5 fish at best
3) I'd like to see a SUSPENDING frog lure .. like a jerkbait but with soft body. That way I don't have to put a bullet weight on the line when I want a frog to be deeper.
4) I already do so I would try any frog lure.

Thanks sports nut. I definitely agree on the suspended aspect. I've considered removable weights to adjust the buoyancy of the frog. I'd like a frog that can be dropped between pads and jerked quickly to the surface. Here is a demo design I put together. It features 3 weedless hooks, totally weedless body, pointed head with some weight to dive on a jerk, soft rubber body.

One more question, frogs legs made of rubber or hair?

That looks like the meaniest frog I have ever seen. I wouldn't mess with him, looks like he might shoot lasers beams out of his eyes.

How did you have that design worked up? Was it done on the computer in photoshop or illustrator or some other way?

Did it myself on a few programs, drew the original shapes by hand, then used publisher, adobe to get it '3d'. Now I'm getting input from anglers, will do a few versions/updates, and will them go after a company to produce it. I feel fisherman buy aggressive looking lures. Wait till I get my line of crankbaits, jigs, spinners and more out there... I have basic designs, but only a few worked up to this stage.

I never noticed that my post showed up twice.. weird. but that does look like one heck of a mean frog. Pike might eat it out of self defense rather than hunger. How about a version for Ryan the catfisher, with a place to put a small chum ball (besides on the hook itself.)

It looks great. Good luck getting them produced and into stores, that will be awesome to see.

When looking at new lures i like to see a natural body color but with blood red hooks or trailers of some sort. It just seems it would be more natural to see green frogs with a blood trailer on the legs. Just an idea.

Yep, I designed them in several colors, black has just always been my favorite color for frogs, thus the one I show. I'll post the others too.
