Here is an update of pool 9. I fished Friday thru Monday, Wednesday Night and with luck will go out again tonight...
The pan fish are biting. Bluegills and sunnies are staying close to wood and weeds, of course. They are hitting on anything that presents close to them. I tried Gulp worms on red hooks and micro-combos and had a great deal of fun and luck.
Crappies were hitting on wingdams...yes, I said wingdams, with minnows. Not much size, but still fun.
Largemouth Bass have moved to slightly deeper water during the day, but return to the lillypads and weedbeds at night. Fish the areas where the current meets still water or slower water. Buzzbaits are still producing large bass when fished within the first 6 to 10 feet of weeds/pads. Try Dixie Dancers Buzzbaits or Booyahs with clackers (the louder the better). Frogs are working well when fished over scum areas in a slow jerking method. Black frogs or black Manns Ghost. Spinnerbaits, with colorado blades seem to be the best at bringing in the big ones. 1/2 oz should do the trick. I'd stick to white with a bleeding tail. Booyahs or Stanley Wedges got it done.
Small mouth were also active near rock edges but more so on sand areas with some weed. We slow fished the weeds with worms, tubes and swimjigs, All Terrain weedmasters worked super with Culprit trailers or Mizmo Tubes texas rigged.
Caught several pike on Texas rigged worms, purple or junebug, with an occasional dogfish
