Would fishing with a “PRO” really be worth it?

If this “PRO” was a personal hero to you I think it could be worth it.
I turned into a bright eyed little kid when I was talking with “Mean Gene Oakerland” (famous all-star wrestling sports announcer) last weekend. The rest of the guys looked at me like I was CRAZY! Why cause he was just another guy in the bar they always see. To me it brought back memories of Sunday morning matches between my brother and me.

Would this “PRO” really show you anything for fear of competition?
I suppose tournament pro’s probably would not but maybe the Gary Roaches would.
I am certain things would revolve around money while you sat in that boat.
Do you think Gary would lean over and say “Ahhh I really like to tie my own lindy rigs.” “These packaged ones are crap!” Probably not!

Here is a bit of advice I like to keep in my head. Stay “open minded”.
Learn as many techniques as you can. I have spent time with Crappie Keith just so I can learn what he has to offer about plastics and NO BAIT jigs.
This is really what makes people “PRO’S”!
You have to keep the ability to keep learning about fishing. The minute your learning peaks off and you “flat line” its over.

Another great point actually stems off of some advice given to me about children.
“Your kid will only be as smart as the smartest kid in class”
Surround yourself with people that you think fish harder than you. That will spark the competitive edge in you again! It might even jolt you out of a “flat line”! Just by visiting the forum you have already started. Remember the first time Keith jumped on the forum with his loud speaker and “Jig”. What were you telling yourself? Don’t lie……… I told myself “I have got to meet this guy” Anybody that is that sure of himself and his fishing has got to be worth a visit! I remember watching a guy jig out on the ice (successfully) for 2 hours just to get the rhythm he was using on his rod and spoon.

Whoa, easy SB my head is about to explode.
Just kidding,I appreacate the kudo.
Your right about flat lining,I've always tried to get with the successful guys to see why & how.

When it comes to ice fishing & the 1st 2 weeks of ice off the jig can not be beat. This winter we will be out there & for those of you that think it is worth checking out I'll welcome you & give you all I can to make you deadly on the slabbers. for those of you that think I'm full of it ,you should still come to prove yourself right, only I know what you'll go away with. That guy changed my life. This comment is a common one & I've seen it over & over so why would you be any different.
There is 1 thing I know & that is when I'm drilling them laughing & having a good time you will either leave mad or come over & become deadly.

I got the name crappiekeith from them.I did not make it up. Why,cause I'm getting them when noone on the whole lake is ask Ronnie Fitzell or Jim Arness.

Back to knowledge is power, I get the power when guys see that I'm right on the money.
Were should I set up,how deep ,what color? Respect comes with that.
I read & watch all of the pros on TV.
Most of them are saying what I'm saying so I know I'm on the right track. Look at all of the articles I've put up. All saying the same thing.
Most guys say to me shhhhhh. Do not tell everyone. WHY NOT?

I want guys to be successful, how do you think I sell jigs?
I have to teach them as no one else has.
I've seen it happen all to often. No confidense will kill you.Try something once ,it doesn't work so the rig goes into the tackle box to rust away.
Once you learn something you are stronger ,better & happier!

There is another guy here on the forum (we wont mention any names edudbew) that fishes lime green jigs all the time... I bet a few hours of watching him could but some knowledge in the ole cannister.

Every one has there little goto lure, jig presentation.

Take a shot people and expand this topic.

Most all guys that spend any amount of time fishing have "go to presentations".
It is a confidense thing. I've caught fish on this so I use it.The more you use it the more fish you get.
There are all kinds of baits, lures, jigs that get fish.

The point I try to make is what happens when the bite falls off.
When the feeding window gets so small that your go to bait does not work. Then what do you do?
Downsize & slow down. This tactic goes over most guys heads. That is why they leave skunked & drunk.
A minnow works just as good as the jig does now ,but wait until the ice grows & the snow covers the ice & the oxygen level gets low & a high pressure comes in. Try that minnow then ,you'll be begging for the 100 oz. as I'll still be rearin. Simple ,but how do you tell that to a guy that has 5 huge tackle boxes & 30 rods in a 5er.
In the early ice out time it's the same way. You'll have to wait 2-3 weeks before the water warms up enough to get them aggresive.
