The lake is stocked with plenty of Walleye and some years smaller numbers of Muskie. Tiger hybrids, pure-strain muskie, and Northern Pike are usually around weedy areas. Largemouth Bass can be around 20 or more ft down in and out of weedy areas. Plenty of Bluegill and Crappie are in the lake, but most aren't very big. The weeds make Calhoun pretty hard to troll. Only electric motors are allowed, and fishing off the dock isn't bad. If you are going to fish for walleye they come up to about 10-20 ft as the sun starts going down, try going to the shallow parts of the drop offs in the lake.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
