We have this comp every year between 8 towns. They send there firemen to our park & they have races, tug of war ,obsticle coars & waterball which is a keg strapped to a line overhead. The teams use there hose to push the keg to the opposite end to win.The bucket brigade is fun to see ,but my favorite it the paddle across the Mississippi in a 12' jon boat .Once on the other side 1 guy jumps out climbs the muddy emankment to climb a ladder to get the flag & then pile back in & paddle back. The sherriffs patrol may snag a few guys out of the drink. Food ,bevies & great compitition. Starts at 11 & runs for about 4or 5 hours.

People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
