What a nice relief to get 15/20 minutes of downpour.. even if I just barely escaped the yard to the porcch before the hail started.... AFTER the storm I got out my camera and took a few pictures... the bottom on my Pictures page is the best one.

If you look closely at the bottom picture.. you'll see a FACE in the center of the picture.. I'm naming that the santa claus cloud.. also kinda looks like one of the greek gods but I can't remember which one.

sn218,
Those are some great pictures! I do see the face in the bottom pic, did you really take that pic? smile smiley VERY NICE! I enjoy a little photography myself, and I know how hard it can be to get a great one like that. In the olden days, you may have to burn up five rolls of film to get what you are looking for. Thanks to digital cameras, now all you need is one or two memory cards and your set. Thanks for sharing.

Here's the story...

I was watering the grass and vegetable garden.. and it started gettin really dark (at 3:30 pm).. so I put the hose and stuff in the garage.. came downstairs to my computer..and all of a sudden.. bang bang bang nickel size hail.. so I went out to watch the first rain in 7 weeks smile smiley

I took 5 pictures.. 3 really nice ones.. but I took 2 of them off my picture site until I resize them .. This 'face' one.. I didn't see a face until I was editing the pictures and loading them from the camera .. a 3.2 Megapixel HP photosmart camera. It takes great outdoor pictures. I took the picture because it was cool how the sun was shining through the clouds while hidden.

I kept a large 768k of this picture and some others, which are obviously some better quality.

That must have been some storm up there early this morning on Big Sandy. My mom got a call from the next door neighbor and it sounds like it did quite a number. They said that our sailboat, a 16ft X-boat was flipped off the lift and impailed onto a dock pole, and the aluminum lift it was on was bent into a twisted mess. They also said the 25ft canopy over the pontoon boat was shreaded to nothing. No one was at our place, and we are very lucky to have neighbors like that. We said we would drive up today to take care of things, but they said they had it under control and they would put the other cover on the boat. It's nice to have great people around!
