With the word of 102 degree AIR temp for the cities Monday......... I'm not sure I could think of ice unless I was swimming in it

It's still hard for me to believe that our lakes will ever freeze when we go through hot streeks like this one. I guess it's kind of the same thing in Feb-March when I'm sitting on 36"s of ice saying to myself, how the heck will all of this ever melt in time for the opener. I don't know, but some how mothernature always pulls it off. I can't wait for fall!

Snow…I feel like it’s going to snow this year.
It’s Just a hunch but, I have a wired feeling we’re going to get snow in a big way.

You could be right,it's been 6 years since we got pounded with the wqhite stuff.
To be honest I like no snow. The ice gets good & strong without all of that slush making it miserable on the lake.

I had to chime in, "listening" to you guys complain about the heat is hilarious. Its been 90 in South Fla. since April and, barring a hurricane, it will be until November. I know its been bad all over, my dad called me today to cheer that the heat finally broke in Michigan.

After 22 Michigan winters, I'll take the summer heat down here to avoid 5 months of below freezing. Now I have it just how I like it--one or two trips north in the winter is just enough cold weather for me.

Hey now B-man,I was in Pennsicola & Jacksonville & Orlando for a year.
The hot down there is different than the hot up here.

Unless you live by Lake Supiorior or some other bigger body of water it is to sticky hot.

Try being on the deck of a fast frigate in the middle of the Mediterranean . crazy smiley

We have all 4 seasons here in Mn. & I think that's what keeps us going. Always a changing. Each season has it's own specialness to me.
I've been all around the world & I have got to say there is no place like god's country,Northern Mn.

I agree the heat is different here, it is MUGGY here. And I don't just mean the #@!&*# that take your wallets. In Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, there is usually an ocean breeze that cools everyting down a few degrees, but it still hot. Orlando is the worst in the summer, no breeze in the midle of the swamp. Ouch.

As a kid I always liked the change of seasons, until about January 15 when I wanted winter to end. The funniest thing down here, actually, is the two or three weeks in December or January when it gets somewhat cold here. I lived in a house w/no heat and when it got into the 40s it was a littly chilly at night. Watchng people who are from the islands or Central/South America is more entertaining, it gets into the 60s and they break out their winter jackets, hats and gloves. Too funny.

The appeal of the no. woods to me isn't the change of seasons, its the lack of people. In a perfect world, I would spend half the year up north and half here, but I can't quite afford that. Better keep playing that Lotto I guess . . .
