FISHING REPORT as of 07/14/06 08:05 PM

Still great fishing here at the lake; boy what a summer, excellent fishing close to the resorts and almost perfect weather everyday. We are still doing well in 27 to 30 feet with a jig and a minnow or leech, today we released many nice walleye between 20 and 28 inches and two about 10 pounds. Long lining lures and down rigging is also producing limits of walleye and sauger, and they are also reporting many releases of 4 - 7 pound walleyes along with a few trophies. Whatever style of fishing you prefer, now is a great time to fish Lake of the Woods.

Some of you have asked, so here is the answer for everyone:

Yes! If you have a legal limit of walleye (4) and sauger (2) for each person in your group from Lake of the Woods, you can fish Red Lake on the way home and keep a Red Lake limit 2 walleye also.

CK,
Thanks for the good report, I know I have said it before, but I have never fished LOTW in the summer. After reading a report like that one, I would love to.
