This pic was post on FM as well.

Consensus over there was that it was a European pike which get alot bigger then your minnesota pike.

The double gill plate is what gives as probably being a fish caught in europe.

I just went a read the entire thread at FM regarding this fish.

Some say its photoshop, some say its a euro fish and one guy just said its a real MN fish and that he either knows the guy or knows a guy who knows the guy who caught it.

I think its a real fish with no photoshop that I can see but I am not sure if its euro or MN, I lean toward euro but I might be wrong.

The double gill plate might also just be the gill and also a jaw line, since we aren't use to seeing fish this big know one really knows what it shoudl look like.

I'll be talking with Lee ,so I'll grill him about it.Lee said it was his freind that got it.
So what would you do with that monster dragging you around for an hour?I could give a rip about the details. Just to know a monster like that prowls around gets my juices flowing!

I guess the claim is that it is 44 lbs which is under the MN state record so it is possible its a MN fish since a bigger one has been caught in MN waters.

Personally I have no gear that could bring that fish to the boat unless I got an anchor rope around him.

It would have stripped me of the 120 yds of line I normally spool up with, if it didn't break the line right away. Though I don't think I'd be fishing with my normal 10 # test fishing the size lures you see in the boat there.

I've never had a brute like that one,but I did get a 20lb.pike ice fishing through a 10" hole & 3 feet of ice. I had 4 test on my ul crappie rig. The battle ensued for 50 minutes.I did land him& release him.It was on URL.
