Weekend on Mille Lacs was a lot better then you think, considering the heat. Most of the fish we caught were during the day, believe it or not. Mayflies at dusk still suck, though. Used primarily slip-bobber with red plain hooks and leeches. Fished the east side on the flats and was able to hit the limit within the slot. Biggest was a 28" (NICE) a pal in the boat caught right around sundown. Wind was a bite, but hey, that's why we got floatation devices, right?
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
