Well, here's the report.

0 fish caught

4 different fish eaten
-cuttle fish served in its own ink
-whole crawfish
-halibut
-shrimp

1 sunburn

1 beach visited with more topless women then clothed women

3 days lounging around a pool

10 days with temps well over 100 degrees, the highest we had was around 110. But 108 was most common.

And countless bottles of wine, beer, and sangria consumed.

40 straight hours awake on my return home.

And 1 car accident once I got home.

All in all not a bad trip.

No, never had time. We spent 2 weeks bouncing from city to city and the area we spent the most time had basically no above ground water so no great fishing chances.

I do fish but it has become a rarer and rarer thing for me the last 2-3 years or so. When I was still in college I found alot more time, but now I am married and have a fulltime job and alot of other interest that I want to give time to as well so I don't have the time to go fishing as much as I would like. Maybe someday that will change again but for the mean time a few trips a year will have to hold me over.

while i was in spain, I was looking for a place to rent poles, or charter a boat but I just wasn't in the right part of the country, I was basically in a desert, not alot of fish in a desert.

If I count all the wildlife I saw while I was there the list would look like this:

flies
ants
scrawny wild cats
a stray dog or two
more flies
sheep
a picture of a carp in a bar
even more flies
and some seafood in the grocery store.

I was in Barcelona for 3 days which is on the Mediteranean but I couldn't find any info about charter fishing. Not sure if its a big money maker in spain. Even if I found a place i doubt I could have afforded it. With the Euro being so much stronger then the dollar most things were really expensive and after spending several grand for the trip we didn't want to spend more money on a fishing charter.

Judging from this website http://www.lifestylebarcelona.com/water-deep-sea-fishing-experience.html
charter fishing is hugely expensive.. 750 Euro or $918 of our dollars for anchored bottom fishing, and a whopping 1450 Euro or $1836 of our dollars. I don't know what it costs to fish the Atlantic or Pacific here, but that seems excessively high?

Even a BAD day of fishing is better than a good day of work; paydays excluded!
