I am planning my first trip to MN and would like suggestions on what lakes would be good the last week of July? Like to fish SM, Walleye, muskie and pike.

Hey swind0gr, welcome to My Fishing Pals!

I agree with walleyewacker, it can be tough at the end of July. However, the last couple of years for me has seen great late and mid summer fishing. Either I got better or the fish got hungrier, I don't know. It's true the opener or the weeks following usually produce the most action, but with a little extra effort, there is no reason not to be able to get a good stringer (or livewell). In fact, the larger fish I caught last year was in late July. Same as the year before. Not mounting material, but big enough that I snapped a picture and put them back in the lake.

Now, if I could only get Hammer Time to bug his Dad about what happened to those pictures! Our camara was broke and he took 'em. Have yet to see them. I think maybe he forgot.

Oh well. I got a new camara I'll be using this year. Last year I got very few pics.

Hey swind0gr, you get some pics and send 'em to me and I'll put 'em up here, okay!
