U.S. Angler's Choice Glacier Lake Division

John Zvorak and Mike Larson find Heavy Weights!
Washington Stella, June 10, 2006, By Dave Cindrich

Conditions;
Partly Cloudy.
Air Temps. Cool in morning warming to 84 degrees.
Wind Speed; 15 to 25 mph.
Water clarity 2 - 6 feet
Weed line 3 - 9 feet
Shoreline 14.7 miles

Heavy bags needed to take the Win on the first event of the U.S. Anglers Choice Glacier Lake Division.

Zvorak/Larson brought an impressive 5 fish limit of largemouths weighing 19.60 to the scales. John and Mike caught their fish on lake Stella in 4 - 8 feet of water, with a variety of plastic baits. The team is familiar with the water but did not pre-fish much. The team pre-fished separately and were on about a 3 lb average apiece and were happy with the days catch. The team had to move around a few times, all their fish were not located in the same area. The team reported catching fish all day. With a great tournament win comes tournament expenses. The team reported taking out their prop going thru the shallow channel in Stella.

Second place team, Dvorak/Jensrud also needed a big bag to come up with 2nd place 18.74 for a 5 fish limit. Tony and Ken visits Washington Stella about twice a year. The team doesn't feel like they have fished the lake enough to be comfortable on it. The team reported catching fish on both lakes, the fishing very slow with plastics. The team didn't catch any fish for the first three hours. The team caught their fish very shallow. The team would like to thank their Mom and Dad.

The first event of the U.S. Angler's Choice Glacier Lake division yielded some very nice bags of fish with about 90% of the field bringing a limit to the scales.

I would like to thank the Team of Darrel and Richard Jones for the excellent job acting as staff.

I would like to thank our division sponsors Fig Rig Rods, Village Bank, MG Lures, Thunder, Angling Innovations, and Kevin VanDam Line and Lure Conditioner.

Glacier lake Divisions next scheduled events are 7-15-06 Green [ Spicier]- 7-16-06 Koronis Lake.

U.S. Angler's Choice Glacier Lake Division

John Zvorak and Mike Larson win again!
Clearwater Lake, June 11, 2006, Dave Cindrich

Conditions:
Air temp, cool in the morning, warming to 85 degrees
Wind speed 15-30 MPH
Skies partly cloudy in the morning, high bright skies in the afternoon, with periods of showers through out the day.

Zvorak / Larson take win on Clearwater, two tournaments, two different days, one winner!

John Zvorak and Mike Larson take the win two days in a row. The team won on the previous day on Washington/Stella, and came thru for the win on the second day on Clearwater with a very tough bite. Zvorak and Larson bested the field under some tough fishing conditions. The team reported catching all their fish by 10:00 am, fishing plastic on drop offs. This is the first time the team has fished Clearwater in 3 years. They had a game plan before the tournament and stuck to it, fishing jigs and plastics. They reported catching their fish off of the main lake. John and Mike brought 14.82 lbs of fish to take the win.

2nd place team, Zeppelin and Zeppelin with 13.90 lbs of fish. Wayne and Jason decided to go a little deeper than normal. They felt because of the tournament the day before, Clearwaters shallow fish may have had pressure on them. The wind was down so it helped the team. They put their boat in 12 feet of water and casted shallow and fished very, very slow. They caught their fish through out the day, but caught their big fish about midway thru the tournament. The team used soft plastics through out the day. The team didnt do much pre-fishing and the fish caught tournament day were not fish they had pre-fished for.

3rd place team, Peterson and Hefti with 13.21 lb of fish. Mike and Bob reported fishing a deep weed line and staying on the main lake all day. The team fished 3 spots all day, they caught their limit within the first twenty minutes of the tournament. An hour later reported catching a few more fish. This was the 2nd time the team has fished this lake. The team used black and blue jigs and green jigs. The team pre-fished one day.

I would like to thank Terrie Jeffries and Jeff Bosshart for there help as staff and our host Water Front bar and Grill on Clearwater Lake.
