Thanks Bobmusky,
I've been blamed for being full of it.I'm glad you heeded my advice.
Pigs Island was close to the lodge so I did spend some time there.
Those smallies can really dig on Pigs Island.I'd love to hear of the battles !

I had brought 2 fly rods along for Smallies and Northern/Musky.The 9 wgt.rod did a good job on the Northerns and the Deer hair divers and the Bunny strips were great but then I went to the 4 wgt.rod with poppers and the Smallies drove me to a lot of lip biting.I've never caught so many on a Fly rod,it was ,,,,,,orgasmic! We used a lot of X-Rap and Husky Jerks and you never knew if it was hit by a Northern or a Smallie with balls. For the amount of fun that the boys and I had I can see myself keeping the money in the US instead of going all the way up into Canada.I was happy though that I had gotten an insdental permit for the Canadian waters.I was surprised to see most of the boats heading west when we had those islands to ourselves and some fantastic fishing.I wish we would have taken more pictures instead of using the video camera but that's the way it goes. Our biggest surprise was when we found the group of naked females frollicking on one of the islands,I know we were mistaken for someone else but it was PRICELESS!

I can clearly see that, fishing and a floor show. Too bad your chef was at home.
All of the boats heading west were going into Namikan, maybe over to Kab.
If you ever get some time & will be in the area ,let me know. I'll put a plan together for whats biting.
Where was it you hail from MuskyBob?

I sure hope you didn't go all that way west towards Palisade to go up north?

The sign at the gates of Voyagers lodge says it all.
YOU ARE AT THE END OF THE ROAD
Once you hit the lake ,it does not take long to get into the middle of nowhere. All of the islands you can fish around, man I miss it.
I went out for a week in a 440 /Sports Crusier. You can rough it too,but I got a deal.
We did have the optional hot tub & water slide. It's funny how you can meet some folks from Cloquet with their own houseboat & ski boat in tow and how a party in the middle of nowhere can break out.

Rules and Regulations
Please read these Rules and Regulations carefully so you'll know what to bring, what is provided, and what to expect on your vacation. The staff at Voyagaire Lodge & Houseboats would like to make your trip as pleasant and memorable as possible.

Preplanning
With your reservation confirmation, you will receive a detailed list of what you should bring with you and what is supplied with your houseboat.

Departure and Return
A three-day minimum rental is required for a reservation. Boarding time is 3 p.m. and return time on your final day is 9 a.m. unless prior arrangements have been made.

Deposits
A 50% deposit is required to secure a reservation and full payment is due within 90 days of the arrival date. Deposits/payments are non-refundable.

Mooring at Night
Houseboats are required to be beached overnight. Voyageurs National Park has a multitude of well-spaced, secluded beaches to secure your houseboat for the night, they are marked on your navigational charts. All houseboats are equipped with mooring lines, and beaching procedures are part of your check-out instructions before leaving the dock.

Boats, Motors and Guides
A fishing boat and motor are required with each houseboat. You may either bring your own boat and/or motor or rent them at the Lodge. We are a Mercury dealer and all of our outboards are replaced with new 4 stroke Mercury motors every year and are maintained by our well-trained staff of mechanics. Fishing, hunting, and tour guides are independent contractors and are hired directly by you.

Necessities
Nearby, a trading post offers many items and necessities like fishing licenses, beverages and gifts. Further up the chain of lakes there are a few other places to purchase gas, ice and bait. If you wish to enter Canada, you will find it easy to check through Canadian Customs at the border. There is a hospitality service that can deliver gas, bait, ice, food or most anything you may need on your vacation.

Responsibilities
You are responsible for any service, damage or loss of equipment other than mechanical problems. You will be required to sign a bare-boat charter. The boat will be checked prior to departure and upon return.

Payment
Payment is due 90 days prior to arrival. Gas tanks are filled prior to departure and refilled on your return. You only pay for the gas you use. Payment can be made by bank cashier's check, personal check, travelers checks, cash, or credit card. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
