The lake has turned over fully now and the fall walleye bite is in full swing! Jigs and minnows or lindy rigs are both catching lots of walleyes for me. 1/4 oz. to 3/8 oz. jigs baited with almost any type of minnow are my prefered presentation. Color and size matters, so experiment with size and colors! If it gets too windy to work jigs I switch to Lindy Rigs baited with large pike suckers, shiners or large rainbow minnows (if you can get them). Most of my fish are coming out of 26' to 42' of water with a few as deep as 52 feet on some days. Stay as vertical as possible with the jigs and move as slow as possible with both the jigs or lindys.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
