Spent the weekend up on Gull and caught a few 'eyes. Bite was lite though. Used mostly live bait, shiners and chubs I was told that the crappies picked up a bit, but I didn't get any. Read on fishingminnesota that a lot of people are heading up to Upper Red Lake. It seems thay are slamming crappies up there. Anyone thinking of heading in that direction?

Ted.

Hi Ted,
Glad to see your getting time to wet a line.

My fishin' bud, RandyMan, is up there now. I am waiting for his report.

Here is Jerry's Red Lake Report from the last two days:

Wednesday, January 26, 2005

Yesterday we saw quite a few fishermen leave the lake early in the day with their limits, apparently there still is a fairly good morning bite going on out there. It was hard to tell if anything was going on in the afternoon and evening because the weather turned nasty and very few fishermen took the time to stop on their way out.

Thursday, January 27, 2005

Still a pretty decent day bite going on out there, I can’t believe that it has lasted this late into the season. Red and orange jigs are working the best during the day with blue and green doing better after dark.

Reports from Red Lake are that some are taking limits and others can only get Walleye to take the line. The key to Red this time of the year is MOVE allot and stay away from others who are fishing!!

Enjoy the experience!
