Well, it has been a blast on Mille Lacs the past couple of weekends. Been graphing a lot of fish on the flats by Garrison. More importantly, when we graph fish, they are actually biting! A bit different then last year. Been using primarily leeches with the typical Mille Lacs' slip bobber set up. Plain hooks or red colored hooks a foot off the bottom. Lindy rigs are producing fish too by drifting over fish. Been catching a lot of keepers from 15 to 20 inch and even more up to 27 inch. Last Sunday we released at least 2 dozen and kept a few of the small ones for dinner. Most of the fish we were catching before noon on both Saturday and Sunday. It slows during the afternoon then picks up again around 7 pm. Got to tell you folks that the fish seem to be really rutned on at the moment. A buddy of mine said he went out about 7 miles on the flats and caught over 50 on Saturday.
