Just got back from 4 days of fishing Eagle Lake in Northwestern Ontario.
Caught over 100 walleyes...most in the 16-18" range. A few between 25-29".
Same number of nothern pike....mostly snakes with some in the 30-36" range.
Some nice smallmouth and jumbo perch also.
The weather was absolutely beautful with temps in the 70's and 80's and lots of sunshine. Because of the early spring and warm weather they have been having, we found the walleyes to be well into post-spawn and have already begun to transition to deeper structure. In years past, we would be catching fish in 2-4' during the same Memorial Day week, this year we were finding them in 8-15' of water.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
