caught one 13 inch walleye in 12 feet of water on slip bobber and leech on a plain red hook. It actually hit as the line was being reeled in.
Caught 4 smaller pike maybe 2 lbs each.
The highlight would be the monster gills. all caught trolling small spinner rig with a leech. All in the 8-10 inch range and fat. caught them along some reeds near a hump. Someone in another boat caught a gill that went 10 3/4" second I have seen in this lake that big. I caught the other a few years ago.
A ton of boats on the lake but not alot of fish caught. Most guys were trolling all day with no results so we tried something different, lots of jigging and slip bobbers. I think I left a pound of weight on the bottom this weekend while jigging over a bunch of logs that always hold fish. Guess I have an excuse to go buy more now.
All fish were caught and released. Will be back in 2 weeks to try again.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
