Looks like the unseasonably warm weather has helped the Flathead Catfish bite.

I took this guy on a 7" Bullhead......my new JIM MOYER BOSS 7ft 6in CASTING Rod held up well with this big dog it took him a while to realize he was hooked but once he did it was game on and a great fight, a couple of quick pictures and back to the river he went.

You say you staithened out a hooh on the big one.It must have been Zeus. I've heard tales of him & even saw him once as he took down a bear drinking by the waters edge.
You might need a dupont spinner to raise that one.I'd go with a half stick for starters.Make sure you duct tape a cow leg for scent.

Let me know if you get him,I'll bring a few families that lost livestock to it so they can have some closure.he-he-ha-ha

That's funny Kieth.

Bobber we didn't weigh it but we were guessing around 30 pounds.

WebDude go ahead and add it, also I have a good Kids picture in my Nokomis Walleye's post you could add.

do not let him fool you PB.He is like the Hulk, get him mad and pooof 300lbs. with shark like teeth. Those wiskers turn into tenticles that can pull a train from a bridge.
I hope you kissed him before you released him so that he will not hunt you down & crap nuclear slime all over you.

Sweet flathead Pier Bridge!

And it all happens in the dark--what a rush. How did you happen to choose bullhead as a bait as opposed to suckers, bluegill, or something else?

Congrats! Must have been a blast!

We use bullheads because of their durabilty they really hold up and they are easy "free" to catch, where as Suckers will die right away and they cost money, we would use Sunfish but they are illegal to use in Minnesota.
