There are a lot of folks here that fish Big Sandy and this vent will cover probably more lakes than this but here it goes.

On the south end of BS there is a bridge known as “Piere 65 bridge” to me. There is also another just down the flowage “Palasaide . Of course don’t forget “bridge road”. I myself use these places to get to some spots on the flowage and/or the main lake. I will fish these spots very few times during the year because it makes me feel like I am waiting in line at the grocery store to pick a few fish. To each there own. If I get there early and know one is around I might give it a whirl. This past weekend was terrible down by the piere! I am telling you that anchoring your boat dead center under the bridge and giving me a dirty look as I motor by you is beyond me. What option do I have if I want to get to the other side? That’s why there’s is a bridge there! It is just as easy not to fish over there but there are a few good spots worthy of checking out early in the year. Nothing new but still crawls under my skin thinking about it.

Have a great summer Sand Burr, Bobber Down and I hope to drop in and see your campsite.

I was there for awhile ,not long! I could not take the activity & had to leave. When I pulled in I got a dirty look too and felt like telling the guy he could #$&(%^))#$&^* off of a bridge.
We moved and worked a few areas. Every spot I knew had 20 boats on it.
I knew better on openers to go there ,but my buddy grew up on the lake & he wanted to go to BSL so we did.
It will be the last opener,no offense to the lake .I guess living up here does afford me to hit it at the right time during the week when everyone is back in the jungle.

Fish on

Is all the construction on those hwy 65 bridges done now? It really sucked sitting at those stop lights for 10 minutes at a time every day for the month and half that I had to go out there every day last summer/fall. The worst thing was having to go back and forth over them a couple times many days. smile smiley But I was employed during that time so that wasn't *too* bad I guess?

I was the guy doin 80% of the DHL express deliveries around Big Sandy and Mcgregor through September and October... having to go to Swan River, Hill city, Swatara, Mcgregor, Goodland, etc made me wanna bring a pole and call in and say the van broke down sometimes.. but it turned out the company with the DHL contract wasn't making the kind of money they wanted so they nixed those routes, at least for that time, giving them to SpeeDee then anyway.

The stoplights and the inaccuracies OF them, sometimes turning halfway through the bridge, or when a semi went through, missing your green light completely and having to wait again, is why I hated them so much. I won't even mention trying to find some of the "285th place" type addresses, even on the map which was really good for the area.(oops.. I mentioned it.)
