There's so much water right now in the St. Louis River here that all my Pike spots are flooded. smile smiley fished for 2+1/2 hours and didn't get rained on, only caught 1 smallmouth while throwing mepps inline with the minnow on it, and saw another fish jump, not sure what it was actually, never seen any carp in the st. louis on the Cloquet side, all I saw was a pink tail..

Not sure how ANYTHING can live in that river! ESPECIALLY near Cloquet. That river can STINK!!! Thank you Potlatch and Diamond Brands for your years of pollution! I remember living 3 miles from that river in Cloquet and on warm days or when it would get really high wooohooo- the smell that would come off it could put hair on your chest!

There hasn't been any real 'odor' in Cloquet for somewhere near 8 years, but it's going to take decades still to get rid of the mercury. I lived close to 'out on the reservation' for 26 of my 31 years and could even smell it out there during lake winds. The odor, at least to me, is gone but the fish aren't edible in quantity, nor would I eat even 1.

Living almost in town now, I hit the river at least 4 times a week during the season and have a few spots where I can almost always find fish when everyone else's spots have dried up.
