There hasn't been any real 'odor' in Cloquet for somewhere near 8 years, but it's going to take decades still to get rid of the mercury. I lived close to 'out on the reservation' for 26 of my 31 years and could even smell it out there during lake winds. The odor, at least to me, is gone but the fish aren't edible in quantity, nor would I eat even 1.|
Living almost in town now, I hit the river at least 4 times a week during the season and have a few spots where I can almost always find fish when everyone else's spots have dried up.
