I see this one got lost in te transfer so I'll repost it....

Hey all. I dont know if this is the proper place for this thread or not, but here goes......

I have a Rapala 5'6" Light action Sportsman Series spinning rod, one of my 6 Rapala rods infact. 2 other Sportsman rods and 3 Tournament rods.

SN20SP56L2 Spinning IM-6 Graphite 5'6" L 02 - 08 lb. 1/16-1/4 7 guides, 2 piece...blah blah blah

Anyway, this thing broke on my 4 stinkin cast about 14" above the handle. Tossing a 1/64th oz jig and a light cork. The one rod that I didnt save me receipt for, ofcourse. And the dude at GanderMntn is givin me loads of flack and wont do anything at all for me without a receipt.

Is there anyone out there that works with a retailer that could help me out with this thing? It's not an expensive rod. But it's the principle I guess. Infact I'll probably spend $25 in gas running around to get this taken care of, to replace a $30 rod. I live in Elk River so somewhere around the north metro would be cool, but Im not gonna be picky!

HELP!!

Thanks in advance!!

Jim

Bring the rod with you and head to Joe's sporting Goods. Rodger Russi is the man I go to. He works Tues., Wed., and Thursdays. He will get you a good rod to replace that one at a good price. Joe's is along side Hwy 36 and Dale. On the south side. You can see it from Hwy 36 if you are westbound.

If you want to talk to Rapala ( they'll just say "sorry"). The phone number is 952 933-7030. Good Luck.

Stop in at Capra's, Ask Dean for help. He is another good person to tap.

As my post mentioned, I did call Normark (Rapala headquarters) and they said if I brought the rod in or mailed it, they would be more than happy to replace it for me.

Where is there a Joe's? Im in Elk River. Figure it might just be better to go to Minnetonka to Rapala.

Yeah, and Im sure Dean would help me out. I used to work for those guys at Capra's. Good fellas.

Thats why I like to build a relationship with the store I buy gear from .I'm know well and if I ask for something, within reason I get it. I'll go to the manufacturer and explain myself if all else fails. I've had a bow rebuilt for free. My buddy's screen showed all red with no gain /FL-8 & got it replaced free O charge with the newer version no less &on an 5 yr. old unit. They even overnighted it.My auger has a hick up and they are going to put on the new carb for notta as well.So have some integrity and explain why you think it should be replaced. Most often they will fix or replace to save you as their loyal customer.

Well, I drove to Minnetonka, walked in the front door of Rapala Hdqts, and less than 3 minutes later, walked out with a brand new rod, nicely wrapped in plastic. With a smile and a handshake, "Thanks for choosing your Rapala rod. If you ever have any issues with our products, feel free to call us directly. I'm sorry the retailer wouldnt help you. Call us if you need anything else."

Tada...was a lot less flack than the dude at Gndr Mntn.
