I am sure you all heard about the missing teens on Fish Lake in Duluth. 5 teens in one 12 foot boat in rough weather. Lets all be smart out there. More importantly tell the kids to be smart.

I go up to this lake every year and will most likely be camping on the same spot they were camping on at the time. When something like this happens it makes you look at the lake totally different. I always thought it was a great lake and always fairly safe, never though it had the power to kill.

Be safe...

Heck, a toothbrush has the power to kill if you dont respect it. Just be smart! 5 kids in a 12 ft boat? Do the math! I feel sorry for them and the families but use some common sense for petes sake.

You got it DS,5 kids in a 12' boat. Where was the dad in all of this. Super cold water out on an island.
There is going to be some serious guilt to deal with.
I remeber my dad, when the cops said his boy was dead.I can still to this day see his face in angony. It should be a lesson to us all that the day of play should be approached with caution. When on the ice ,in a boat or a gun in your hand, you should take care that saftey is job #1.
I have had some near misses and count my lucky stars for not getting killed.
This is a raw deal for everyone, too bad...too bad.

fish on

5 kids w/questionable levels of experience (perhaps more but who knows), 12 ft. boat, no life jackets on I presume, cold water, rough weather, not a good mix. Regrettably, it sometimes takes a tragedy like this to remind us all to be safe. Time to go to church & light a candle.

i just heard the update on the radio. they said they found three of the boys body's and the other two boys were rescued. So sad, my thoughts and prayers go out to all the family's involved. As many have said on this thread before, SAFTEY FIRST, it just can't be stressed enough.
