What do you do during the day? It seems like you and I are always online! I am the behavior monitor at a high school so I when I have kids in my room for the day all I can do is dream about fishing. Boring as hell, but hey, its money till I get a teaching job.

yup you got me. Online at work. I should be doing other non realted business of this site, but when you go like a mad dog for 8 months a little down time is nice.
I still handle day to day stuff ,but I'm not out generating extra business like I could or in my bosse's eyes I should. No guilt, since I have not gotten a raise in 4 years and have taken the Co.to several millions from just a few hundred thousand bucks in sales.
I should add that over this busy season we just had not only do I sell, tech.service & marketing, but training 5 people over that time was very taxing.
So there it is. You can push a guy so far & that is it.It's hard just to get an attaboy from him all though all of his cohorts all say he says your the best he has had. Go figure!!!

Behavior Moniter! LOL....So you are the guy all the kids fear.
J/k....Teaching is a very nobil carreer. I know I still look up to some of my old teachers, and they will always have my respect.

I'm just really happy we never had a behavior moniter back when I was in school. My parents would have givin him permission to beat me! And I would have deserved it.

My boss just told me on Tuesday that our behavior system isnt working because I am not doing a good job. Funny thing is he is suppose to meet with the kids before I see them for a full day and it hasnt happened yet. Funny how that works. I get sub pay each day which is sh#t , not that I can complain though because my job consists of sitting in a room, doing paper work, and playing on the computer.

That's why we did not have a B.M.If you got out of line you got to pick a switch when you got home. Mom would only have to say wait until your father gets home!
I knew my rear was in serious trouble and would meet Mr. belt or The Willow switch.
My father demanded respect as did my granddad. The earned it too. No matter what the family came 1st. No matter what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup,

I had a behavior monitor when I was a kid. He was my DAD! Instilled the fear of God in us!

I have one now too. Her name is Sara (Goddess), my wife. The fear of God? Yeah, still there.

That is the problem here in my building! The parents dont really seem to care. Most parents blame me or the teacher for their students behavior, what they dont realize is it comes from home. For example as we speak I just had a kid blow up at me and say he didnt do anything and storm out of my room. Same kid, met with parents 100 times, no results!! Boy I love my job!!!

Keep in mind their is no fixing stupid.
Parents need to get real about their famlies and learn how to take care of their own.
Someone needs to teach them how to be good parents.
When you ignor something it will go to hell on you.A car, boat, rod, gun you name it. Your kids will suffer from the same treatment.

ever since Doc Spock said do not spank your kids, it has been a slide downhill towards the bottom of the barrel with the kids.
You have both parents working to make ends meet. Who's taking on the kids so that they feel the attention they need as youngsters. Acting out gets them attention. Bad ,but better than none.
Take a kid fishing and spend time with them. They will respond just like any other living thing that gets what it needs.

I couldnt agree with you more! I love working with kids no matter what their family is like, a kid is dealt a deck of cards by his/her parents and it is up to us to help those kids succeed. Esspecially the ones that come from broken families. Take a kid fishing. great. However, if i took some of these high school kids fishing I may have an anchor tied around my ankle in no time. Thats why I went to school for elementary. You get the chance to impact them early before they see another side.
