Well most lakes up here are giving up the crappies & gills. They are in different stages ,but are hitting small baits.
You should expect several hundred in some of the lakes.I can tell you I have been culling through all I can handle.
Whispering and Wilkins ,Waukanabo,Fleming,French,Gun,Round,Lil Red are giving up the slabs.
the key is how deep is the lake. Shallower lakes warm up faster than deeper ones.Just about all of them are giving up gills ,which are the very 1st fish to show up.
If you see fish scooting across the surface ,chance are it is a tad too cold. Another warm day should get them to move in closer and turn on the feeding lamp.

It's my job to make sure these fish get chased. I can not do it all by myself. I need help to put the gauntlet down. So givin the correct info my pals at MFP.com can take some of the burden of rearing slabs off of my shoulders.

Well,it was Lil Red last night.
We nailed monster gills and medium to small crappies.I'd say around 1 every 40 seconds for 3 hours. My arm is still sore from the rearing that took place. The gills were 6-10 inchers.I'd have to say it was the best outting so far.The activity is really heating up. I am shooting these fish to post here later next month.I know we had at least 150 fish to our credit. It was total non stop ripping lips. It was a real giggler. Oh lord give me strenght I'd say then starting breathing hard and sounding like a tennis player after setting each time. Instead of the normal ka-ching after every fish I'd wait for 5 minutes and rip off a jackpot ching, ching, ching, ching, ching, ching!
I did manage to cull 10 crappies for dinner & the gills, well we tossed everyone back in so they are all still there ready for a weekend massacre.

Well Lil Red has me wiped out. I better not fish today so I can recover for the weekend. I know we saw 100's of crappie & gills last night.
I wonder how many more days I can go on this way.I feel like Spartacus after oaring across the ocean being beaten by the whip guy.
I think I can hold on for a few thousand more. he-he
I hope everyone bring rain gear for the weekend.
You can stay inside & be bored or come out and rip lips. You'll not even notice the shitty weather once your adrenilien peaks.

cold, rainey, crappy. The crappies have moved out due to the cold. The gills are still close.
14days without missing a day ,time to tie.Walleyes are spawning.10 working days and 1 weekend left of ripping panfish lips.
