You have to make them UPNORTH. Where do you live compared to the Aitkin area?
They are 64th's and 80th's in size #8 or #10hook and Netcraft sells the unpainted trout head on an #8 hook. I like a #10 so I pour my own, paint and tie.

I go that way when we do the BWCAW for a week in the spring. You should come down to see what heck it is I am talking about.I sell them for $1 each.
64th head size 8 hook. 1 coat of prime ,1 final color coat, double dot the eyes & clear coat. For hair I use calftail/kiptail and 6 ott prewaxed mono cord thread with Umquas flexament for the final glue. These jigs last for many hundreds of fish before they start to come apart. My hair will not pull out. When they are wet they look like a little fry minnow. Do not use live bait on them. It ruins the presentation.

to the untrained eye, these may look like just another flu flu knock off. But let me honestly tell you...I have fished this jig side by side with the same color and size flu flu and out fished the flu flu 5 to 1. Rigged the same, jigged the same, same line and float system. But the action and hair movement on this jig seems to be the ticket!!

Im not just a client of the the Crappie Keith Jig Club, Im an addict...lol

I'd like to add that my motovation for being in this site is to talk to other guys about fishing ,maybe make a few new fishing buddies.Selling jigs is not the reason although it seems to come around to it. Only cause you need the deadly weapon and it is not on the shelf of your local baitshop. They say it is too small for their customer. What a joke! The bait guy should be showing you how to downsize if he cared about your success.Instead I believe he wants you floundering buying 1 of everything off of his shelf searching for that magic lure that puts fish on the end of your line.Only you've failed in your search before it even starts, because he will not stock it. The business is market drivin,so when was the last time you asked for an 80th oz. hair jig.Until you get educated in it's power you will fail to see how it does what it does. i base this on the fact that over the last 9 year I've either been killed by it or killed with it. Steve used to beat me up so badly. Me with 2 holes ,him with one and we fished blind. No FL-8's and he ,working the whole water column would triple my take every day for 3 years. Finnally I gave in. Once I started I was getting double my normal take and then Steve could not make enough to keep me in the jigs ,so I started to make my own. Now some 5000 jigs later,it has turned into a business. I can't help it.I fish in the open ice fishing and the guys come around when i have most of the fish and they say what are you using. Same in the spring when Rick & I are beating up on the slabs, they say hey what are you using. the answer is always the same Hair & a hook. They say with a minnow tipped, nop just hai & a hook. Either they leave mad, because with all of the boxes of gear they do not have anything like it or they come over and buy a few. Some that fish alot buy several hundred at a time once they figure it out. I have 1 guy who goes to Orr for the monster Bull Gills. He will not go if he does not have the jig. He stops buy and hopes I have a bunch tied. He does not even care about color. How many do you have he says. I say of around 150 he says I'll take all of them. I see him about 3 times a summer.
This guy was a guy in Whispering that could not touch the slabs very early in the year like it is now. Rick and I were doing our thing & he was amazed after he fished the same spot for 2 hours . He started with2 the 12 then 50 now he gets what I have available. Once you become confident in this jig like I am you will know when you do not get any there was nothing there to start with.If there is a fish close by he will be yours. Pike, bass crappies, gills, perch, dogfish, walleyes. Everything up close is looking to feed and right now all fish are feeding.

About 50-50 as far as water clarity. Maybe just a hair more clear but not by much. I would say I will start with 20, d0 you need my address or just take it off the check when it arrives. What is my total? How long do they usually take to arrive?
