Hey it is time. I'll repeat IT IS NOW THE Time to get up here and have a blast on these slabs. Big gills too for those of you who think the crappie is a mud minnow.Every night after 4:30 and all week end long I'll be going. Just call me and let me know if you want in. Once the lilly pads hit the surface I'm done and so are they.

I tie this jig, chase the slabs, eat good. too much fun.
I keep the pulse of the crappies. Start to finsh,so if you like to get nice slabs on U.L.rigs then this is the time for the best fishing of the whole year. Last night when Rick and I were ripping slabs a guy with a minnow right next to us fishing the same spot was bewildered why he only caught 1 compared to the doubles Rick and I were getting back to back to back.He left without my jig, some guys think they could do better if they had the spot .That was not his problem,he had too large of an offering.I preach finese, downsize and stealth. This guy did not get it as most do not. When you see how many you get compared to the minnow it does not take long and you stop buying minnows. There are those that think I'm full of it,but once you get out there it goes like this. You have changed my life.Ice fishing it is deadly too,ask Tap Tap Tap.Ask Dadshamp, he said the jig out preforms the flu-flu 5-1.call me to set a date 800-358-0060 days or 218-845-8801 at night. I will not be home until after dark as I am out ripping lips.

Well SF they go for $1 ea.Send me a check and I'll send you the jigs.
I mostly tie black/white black/chartuse green chartruse /white
Orange/chartuse yellow in 80th and 64th. These are the colors that work best for me. I have several other colors ,but when these color combos work why do anything else. I'll get bored so it is nice to have other colors to tie up ,but these are the ones I carry at all times. I never need any other color to get them to bite. Clear waters I'll use the B/W ,when in stained water I'll go with the yellows .My address is P.O.Box 42 Palisade Mn.56469 Keith Nelson Just let me know and I'll put them in the mail to you. Dadshamp has his now and I believe doing some damage.Even his kids are getting their 1st's bass and crappies.Whoooo!
Sure is nice not to have to bait them.

Well hey Bobber Down lets do Fri.night or Sat or sun. You pick a time slot.Anytime after 10 A.M. as we still need the sun to get up and do its thing for a few hours before we wet a line. I am so stoked about the early ice off. We have an extra week before the eyes open season hits us.You should see me with that new 4 footer super U.L.Great backbone ,fast tip.It sets good and the fight is awesome. We fished last night right into dark with light clothes on. We got so cold you could not feel your finger tips, but hey 1 more cast. Well 1 more led to 20 more and we kept on even when you had a hard time seeing the bobber I was working off of line tension.
The action was non-stop and most of them were at a pound.Double after double. The guy working the minnow had 1. I gave him a chance to get the deadliest weapon available to him,but ignorance held him back from recieving the mighty jig.He said yea you got a bunch ,but how many were keepers? I said it all depends on how hungry you are.I would have told him,but it would have been waisted breath & besides the sun was in the trees & it was time to put the hurt on those lips.Get with me BD to see when you have the time A.S.A.P. I am making plans with about 6 different guys including my dad.
He was another one of those minnow guys until I beat him so bad time after time.He is no dummy and came to it like I did. I alittle grudgingly at first ,but now I'd not go out without my jig. Just like my FL-8 always goes with me on the ice or in the boat.Talk to you soon .

I have to work all day Friday and will not be able to get out of town until about 6:00, and I have to help my dad get the boat out of storage Saturday morning. So, I think saturday afternoon / evening might work the best for me. Hey, if you need to make plans with others, go ahead and do that, i have plenty of work to do if that time doesn't work for you. No biggie. I will grab your number off this site and get into contact with you either Friday night or Saturday sometime. Let me know it that will work.

Sounds like aplan for Sat.from say 3or 4 till sunset? Steve and I will be in there in the a.m. so he is only good for about 4 hours. So I'll be back in Palisade by 2 for lunch & then I'd be ready for round 2. I won't keep any so I could not be blamed for double dipping.Let me know asap. Oh just to let you know Rick and I pounded them last night in the same spot as the night before.Only we got around 50 this time.Better then half of them were around a pound. One after another after another.Man what a blast to set the hook and see the boil a foot in diameter.Double after double,we got so cold our fingers where numb.It didn't matter hey 1 more cast o.k.,well one more turned into 20 more. We went right into dark almost (8:40)Laughing all the way home with fingers in the heater vents.

CK,
It sounds like a plan, I will give you a call either Friday night on my way up or talk to you Saturday during the day. I forgot to ask you, are we going to be fishing on BSL or another lake/river?? Let me know. And do I really need an ultralight, because I don't have one, I just have a sensitive walleye rod. Let me know if all of that will work for you. and can you post your phone number again in your response so i don't have to go looking through all the previous threads for it.
Thanks Much!
