CK-
Thanks for the update. I think this is the first year I have really known exactly when the ice goes out. Thanks to you. Keep up the good work, and I'm sure you'll be the first one to 1000 posts, you are well on you're way.]

It's not the 1000 post I'm after ,but to stay involved. This is a very exciting sport. I mean heart pounding, adreinelin pumping action.
My mission is to spread the word, get others involved. How else do we sportsmen and women surround ourselves with others of the same mindset. Human nature tells us to bond with our fellow man.So it seems natural for me to be around others that share the same ideology. I learn a great deal from others,so as I do come off as some what of a I know it all.The reality is I do not. I am passonate at what I have proven and will always try to be receptive to new ideas and methods.

Never question CK, he is our source of info on anything north of Mille Lacs. I'm sure with the temps Bill Horn is off as well.

TapTapTap, you are correct about Bill Horn. With all of the current you would think it would go quicker than later. Websters is open,Davis is almost ice free. The flowage is out as well. The ice will be gone by this weekend for sure .It is half gone now. The upper lake is almost all clear.
My deal is with these small little back lakes off of the main lake. They are where the crappies go to spawn. I only need 3-4 good warm days and they will start to come in close to feed. Then they are mine.If you want to put in your docks you can.

No biggy,as it stands now the rain has started .It is t shirt weather so the ice does not stand a chance. It should all be gone by the time you get up here.I am going to go look at whispering tonight.Take a water temp.& fire up the locator to see if they have migrated into the deep hole. With 2 weeks until you dock installers arrive the slabs will be in full swing. I'd say to bring your ultra light gear so if you get a few hours in the afternoon to fish,I'll guide you into them for your limit.

It sounds like a plan. I have all my gear up there, but yeah if we get some free time I would love to pound on some slabs. And yes if the pig roast is a go you will definitly be invited, to chew some fat!

now your talkin BD,it would go something like this: We would meet to get on the water by 4pm-just before dark say 7:30.You can take your limit first.Dad may want a few too,I'll have extra's.I 've given fillets to everyone that I promised so outside of sliding them over to Tjosvold they are available to anyone .I've had my fill of those prime fillets, white flakey meat deep fried to a golden brown.A splash of lemon and some cocktail sauce.MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM ooops, mouth is watering better stop.
