Bees do not attack in the presence of smoke. This is because over millions of years they have developed an instinct to focus on moving the hive in the event of a forest fire, which overrides their instinct to defend the hive.
Moral of the story: When fishing amongst a whole bunch of bee's nests, always smoke a good cigar.
Speaking of urine, if you are ever in Florida and get attacked by fire ants, which congrgrate on your feet and bite you all at once, pee on your feet and it will drive them away. Supposedly it also works as first aid for jellyfish and man-o-war stings, but I prefer vinegar.
