Well, Sara (goddess) and I hit the water today. The boat fired right up and all went well. We found crappies and lots of em. The large females were still a bit deeper and still negative. We found thousands, literally, up in about 1 1/2 ft of water in a cove. The water was boiling with them. Not alot of size, a bunch of 9 inch fish.
Tomorrow we will work a bit more for the deeper large fish.
All in all, a great day on the water with my fishin buddy!

Little Elk Lake in Zimmerman. Shallow lake, not much structure but has a small river running thru it. Holds a few eyes too.
There were some folks that found some 12" fish today there too I heard.

Ok, so Sunday afternoon Jim (dadshamp) took our 9 yr old, Cody out fishin for what was supposed to be "a little while". I stayed home to go horseback riding with my sister (the horse threw her...hehehe) Anyway, the boys left at 2pm. So around 5pm, I call. They are into a mess of fish and having a great time. Give them about another hour. So 7pm, I call again. "Well, mom," I hear. "We almost have our limit...we cant leave yet!" So around 7:30 I take the other 3 kids to dinner with grandma. Jim says he will drop Cody off when they are done. 8:30pm Cody walks into the restaurant chest out, head high and says, "Excuse me, I need to go scrub hundreds of fish off my hands." Then for the whole meal he couldnt sit still!! Bouncin' and giggling and talking a mile a minute. I asked what his deal was and he said, "I cant help it mom! I have the fishin' jiggles!!"
Needless to say, he and Daddy had a great time together! 17 Crappies brought home and Cody helped clean em all. He was casting like a pro, baiting his own hook and taking his own fish off. Jim said he was awesome!! SO now Cody has been bugging Jim to go almost as much as I do. This guy has it made!!...lol Last night Cody begged and begged, "Cant we just go shore-fishing? Something? PLEEEEEEEEASE Daddy?" Of course, Jim gave in and took the 3 boys shore fishing. They still hooked a good number.
OPEN WATER ROCKS!!...LOL

Sara,
Awesome!!! I am about by JD a new rig, he has gotten pretty good at casting the old closed face. Time to have him try the real deal. I got a gift card to GM that has been burning a hole in my wallet, but I have not had time to go there yet. We went to Cab's on Friday. My neighbor had been plowing our driveway all winter, so I bought him a new combo with some of my points. I thought he was going to have a coronary, he was so excited....I saw he had his boat out and was getting ready.
The Fever Has Hit.....I need to find time for the cure!!
Glad to see you all got out!!!
Mike

Glad to see that you made it Mike! You'll love these guys! (Keep in mind Mike that there is MUCH less bitterness than the Fantasy Football league here...lol)
Guys, Mike is a great friend of mine. I told him about My Fishing Pals and how great the folks are here.
He has a 16ft Alumacraft V-16 with a mid-to-late 70's Chrysler outboard that could use some TLC. Sounds like it just needs a tune up. Any help finding out more about this motor would be great. It seems to be a bit of an obscure motor. Information on it doesnt seem to be widely available.
Thanks all, and welcome Rasdar!!!
Jim
