Great caption for those pics--

"Sushi Nort'woods Style".

You might even see it pop up on a few "trendy" cities restraunts in the near future!

Crappie Keith--Many congrats on the excellent catch!

Scumfrog, they go deep.I run into them in the summer trolling for walleyes in 10-12 feet of water a foot off to 2 from the bottom.I get these when the ice is almost off wait 4 days after ice off & I'm back after them. At dusk last year on the 4th day I could not find them anywhere in the lake, but when we left we have the creek to go thru to get out. Would you believe they had a migration at that moment. The 50 yard long creek was boiling with the crappie. I've seen suckers and walleyes run ,but never a crappie. The key is to have good sun for a few days after the ice goes out.I'll beat on them until the males are solid black. The spawn is over now here come the monster bull gills. They want to feed on the fry and use the same nests for their spawn.Oh it is over too fast, but the walleyes take away the sting. They open at the tail end of all this pan fish action.

I will take you up on that ,but do not wait too long as they will be hard to find.I'll have their pulse all the way to walleye opener.I hit them every night after work and all weekend long once I find them which is within 4-7 days after the ice goes out. I go to the lake every day to see when the ice is gone.I am very serious about this.I have quit jobs for lack of time to do this, just like deer hunting or duck or goose or grouse. Heck, the only reason I punch in is to keep my wheel going around. Once my guide service gets up and going I'm done working at my day job .
