Hello people. I just found this site and by the looks of it I am going to enjoy it. I grew up in south Central MN near Mankato and recently moved up to the cities. I love to fish, and look forward to participating on the forums. If there are any catfisherman in here, I;d love to here from ya. I am a member of another fishing site, so I hope thats not a problem. Welcome to the site!

As you can tell I love Catfishing......Channels are feeding pretty good now and with the warmer weather it's going to get much better, hopefully the Flathead Catfish will start biting when the water warms up some I am guessing Mid May for the big guy's what do you think?

About 5 minutes from your work TTT.

Yes the Big Flatheads like live Bullies, sunfish, sucker.
They won't start feeding for a while until the water really warms up.

The Channels we were catching were caught on 3 or 4 fathead minnow half's on a circle hook and some were being caught on Cut bait "chunks of sucker or mooneye".

Catfishing in the Metro. That's easy. It's called the Mississippi River. Just about anywhere you can get down to the river, you'll find cats, and they aren't all that tough to catch.

Using commercial stinkbait, I've caught channel cats up to 20 lb. in the river, fishing from shore. They're there. Lots of flatheads in the river, too, but you'll need live bait or, perhaps, crankbaits to catch them.

Good fishing!
